Happy Pride Month Eleanor Roosevelt was queer, the Little Mermaid is a gay love story, James Dean liked men, Emily Dickinson was a lesbian, Nikola Tesla was asexual, Freddie Mercury was bisexual & British Indian, and black trans women pioneered the gay rights movement.

biggest-gaudiest-patronuses

Florence Nightingale was a lesbian, Leonardo da Vinci was gay, Michelangelo too, Jane Austen liked women, Hatshepsut was not cisgender, and Alexander the Great was a power bottom

Honestly just reblogging for that last one

Probably not historically backed but fuck yes

Eleanor Roosevelt wrote love letters to Lorena Hickok

Love letters Hans Christian Anderson wrote to Edvard Collin contain elements that appeared in The Little Mermaid, which he was writing at the same time

Several people who knew James Dean have talked about his relationships with men

Letters and poems allude to a romance between Emily Dickinson and at least two women

Nikola Tesla was adverse to touch. He said he fell in love with one women but never touched her and didn’t want to get married

Freddie Mercury is well known for his attraction to men but was also linked to several women, including Barbara Valentin whom he lived with shortly before he died. Friends have talked about being invited into their bed and walking in on them having sex (documentary Freddie Mercury: The Great Pretender)

Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera are two of the best-known activists who fought in the Stonewall riots

Florence Nightingale refused 4 marriage proposals and her letters and memoir suggest a love for women

Leonardo da Vinci never married or fathered children, was once brought up on sodomy charges, and a sketch in one of his notebooks is 2 penises walking toward a hole labeled with the nickname of his apprentice

Condivi said that Michelangelo often spoke exclusively of masculine love

Jane Austin never married and wrote about sharing a bed with women (Jane Austen At Home: A Biography by Lucy Worsley)

Hatshepsut took the male title Pharaoh (instead of Queen Regent) and is depicted in art from the time the same way a male Pharaoh would have been

“Alexander was only defeated once…and that was by Hephaestion’s thighs.” is a 2,000 year old quote

i think you’re lowballing the furry art amount tbh

I’m sorry for the inaccuracies, Doctor Yiff

no matter how I respond to this I don’t look good, well played. i walked right into that

boob-a-chu

Well, furry artists are typically more competent and courteous than your average doctor, so I can see that.

pukicho

Did you just legitimately tell me that a person who draws wolf ass is more competent than a dude who spent 8+ years in a university to give you your lung transplant?

bog-dweller-official

doctors are bullshit and furry artists perform an infinitely more valuable service to society compared to them

pukicho

You will die in 7 days

hokuto-ju-no-ken

It took doctor’s like 10 years to diagnose what was wrong with me, some insisting I was faking for attention while a furry artist I knew just went “that sounds like crohn’s” after hearing me complain once and ended up being right

Also I can’t go to a doctor and ask them to draw Rouge the Bat wider than she is tall with tits to match, now can I

kolbye

You could if you weren’t a fucking coward

In Narrow Decision, Supreme Court Decides In Favor Of Baker Over Same-Sex Couple

“The U.S. Supreme Court dodged a major ruling on the question of whether business owners can refuse services to gay individuals based on their religious objections.

In a case brought by a Colorado baker, the court ruled by a 7-2 vote that he did not get a fair hearing on his complaint because the Colorado Civil Rights Commission demonstrated a hostility to religion in its treatment of his case.”

U.S. readers, register to vote here and stop the Republican War on LGBTQIA+ and women.

Conservative presidents elect conservative Supreme Court judges, a lifetime appointment. And the republican led Congress refused to hear Obama’s appointment of Merrick Garland, stealing a seat with decades of repercussions.

Remember Vice POS Mike Pence made it legal in Indiana to put up “No Gays Allowed” signs essentially, before pushback from corporations affected the business community and they had to walk it back.

Adults would rather believe drugs are caused by peer pressuring teens rather than horrible situations developing kids are put into that drive them to seek out any sort of relief they can find. They don’t want to believe that they themselves are driving kids to do drugs.

Want teens to do less drugs? Provide accessible and cheap (or free) mental health support, get kids out of abusive situations, and use education rather than fear mongering when trying to deter teens.

This is more of a personal opinion, but I think legalizing weed would significantly reduce the use of harder, more dangerous drugs.

We are told that “teens use drugs because they are pressured to. Adults use drugs to cope with things or because they started as a teen.” We are told that these people cope using drugs and not given any other alternatives to cope.

confidentlyawkward

When girls are vaping in the bathroom at my school, they don’t try and get you to have any… You just let them vape and they let you pee. Like no interaction. It’s so rare that people pressure you into drugs like that (though it can happen, so always stay safe :))

(also completely agreeing with the last two)

An action being “punishable by a fine” basically means “legal for rich people”.

gnotknormal

Oh wow. That’s…

zipsuptsides

I once dated a rich guy and if I said “Hey it’s illegal to drink on the street” he’d respond with “Nah, it just costs £150″, or “You can’t park here!” “Yeh I can it costs £35″ like… literally… that’s how he saw fines, it was just how much you paid to do the thing.

invaderxan

Reminds me of the double red lines in London. They exist because rich people kept parking on double yellow lines (which mean “no parking” in the UK) and then just paying the fines. So London started putting double red lines on major roads. If you park on double red lines, they don’t give you a ticket. They tow your car away and crush it.

I like that.
